Raleigh-Cary Jewish Family Services Receives Donation from Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation

Raleigh-Cary Jewish Family Services of the Jewish Federation of Raleigh-Cary has received $2000 from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation to help feed neighbors in their time of need. JFS will use the gift to purchase food for the JFS Food Pantry and Mitzvah Meals program.

“Our JFS Food Assistance programs have met the increased demand since the beginning of the pandemic, but increasing food costs are creating an extra burden,” said JFRC Executive Director Phil Brodsky. “Thanks to this award from Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation, we will be able to help more members of our community facing food insecurity.”

The JFS Food Pantry is the only food pantry in Wake County that specifically offers a selection of kosher food. Mitzvah Meals are kosher-style prepared meals delivered twice a month to food insecure households. JFS Food Assistance programs have already assisted with over 102 meals in 2022.

The Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation is committed to supporting families facing food insecurity across its 10-state footprint. Established in 2001, the foundation provides financial support for programs and organizations dedicated to feeding local neighbors in the communities it serves. Since its inception, the foundation has awarded more than $15 million in grants.
