Security Awareness Notice to the Jewish Community

We have been alerted by several of our partner national Jewish security organizations of a proposed “National Day of Hate” on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023.

There has been a call for supporters of antisemitic groups to “shock the masses with banner drops, stickers, fliers, and graffiti.”

We understand this is disturbing and upsetting. After having conversations with local law enforcement, we are unaware of any direct threats to our local Jewish community institutions or synagogues. The Federation is working in collaboration with local organizations to take a proactive approach to the potential for antisemitic incidents in our community on or around Feb. 25. Our security contractors and local law enforcement partners at the Raleigh Police Department and Wake County Sheriff's Office have been made aware of this alert and are increasing patrols at Jewish sites over the coming days.

We are asking our Jewish community to be vigilant and situationally aware. If you SEE something, SAY something! Should you see any type of activity, please report it to local law enforcement first by calling 911.

Thank you for your vigilance. We are stronger when we work together.

Sincerely,

Phil Brodsky
