We are proud to announce that Seth Malin has accepted the position of Chief Executive Officer of the Jewish Federation of Greater Raleigh.
Every year, Camp JCC is fortunate to host shlichot, Israeli counselors. They work at camp while living with host families in Greater Raleigh. Our shlichot for this year are Olga Dudchuk and Violet Pavlyukevich. We were excited to ask them a few questions to get to know them better.
Rabbi Scott Klein is the new Jewish Army chaplain stationed at Fort Bragg, one of the largest military bases in the world by population. He is also serving as the Interim Rabbi for Beth Israel Congregation in Fayetteville. We spoke to Rabbi Klein about his journey to becoming a Chaplain and how the Jewish population at Fort Bragg has grown.
Beit Am is a new organization created by the Israeli community in the Triangle that provides Israelis with support, programming, and opportunities for connection. We spoke with Naama Shaked, a Beit Am volunteer, to learn more about why the organization began and what their goals are for the coming years.
On Monday, the Wake County Board of Commissioners took time during their regular meeting to proclaim May as Jewish American Heritage Month. Jewish Federation of Greater Raleigh was there to celebrate, and Federation Interim CEO Robin Talley gave a short speech about the role of Jewish Americans in Wake County.
